Anand Selvaratnam Appointed Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Premium Renewable Energy

KUALA LUMPUR, October 1st, 2011 – PREMIUM RENEWABLE ENERGY SDN BHD (“Premium RE”) today announced that Mr. Anand Selvaratnam has been appointed its Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer (“CEO”) taking over from Mr. Ahmad Jauhari Yahya who was appointed the Chief Executive Officer of Malaysia Airline System Berhad on September 19th, 2011. Mr. Ahmad Jauhari Yahya will however remain involved in Premium RE in his capacity as Senior Director.

 

Mr. Selvaratnam is a Malaysian property developer who has successfully developed several sizeable projects in the Klang Valley and in Perak over the past few decades. Mr. Selvaratnam began his career at BSG Valentine, an accounting firm based in Mayfair, London. After completing his stint there, he returned to Malaysia in 1991 to practice law. He spent five years in litigation practice including corporate litigation and left in 1996 to manage his family’s property development and construction business. In recent years, Mr. Selvaratnam was instrumental in bringing the True Group into Malaysia, where they now have five fitness clubs in the Klang Valley. Mr. Selvaratnam holds a law degree from the University of Buckingham, United Kingdom and a Certificate of Legal Practice (CLP) from the University of Malaya.

 

Premium Renewable Energy (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (Company No. 787884-A) established in 2007, formed a partnership with Ensyn Technologies, Canada (“Ensyn”) in 2008 and will use Ensyn’s patented and proven commercial Rapid Thermal Process (“RTPTM”) technology to convert oil palm biomass to pyrolysis oil also known as bio oil for green renewable power generation and for the conversion to “drop-in” renewable transportation fuels production such as green gasoline, diesel and jet fuel. Premium RE holds the exclusive rights to commercialise Ensyn’s proven RTPTM technology in Malaysia and other parts of the region.
